The First Run

a taste of the 1.0 run. man, melee cancel changes EVERYTHING. this is the first thing ive captured. edit: DemonStrate gave me some pointers, check it : www.youtube.com this version will be rendered in full hd(this is just a fraps rip on my shitty laptop, but i'll be transferring the demos to a better pc and encoding them there.), will be played on expert instead of easy, will use items chronologically(i dont have it in one chapter unless i found it in the last) and most importantly, no taking accidental damage. as you can see, melee cancel and powershot alone make a pretty good defense against expert common infected. this run is pretty flawed though, ideally i wont have to melee any zombies, but rather just run straight. that just requires a lot of luck manipulation. man, melee cancelling with 3 weapons is pretty good, but the power grows immensely with added items. unfortunately, it's basically impossible to get a grenade or pills on NM1. pills rarely spawn in the speedrun ! path, and when they do, it's in the bus stop where the second pistol is, and usually has common on it.. grenades never do. in NM2, there are a few before the button launch that spawn pills(the first ammo dump, the bench when you first see tracks, the second and third ammo dumps, but sometimes it just wont spawn in any of those places. the difference in time between a launch powered by 3 canceled weapons or 4(well, it would be between 4 and 5 since you always find mollys in the generator room) is ...
